John Joseph DiDonato August 12, 1938 – November 5, 2025
John Joseph DiDonato, 87, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away on November 5th, 2025. Born on August 12, 1938, he was the beloved son of the late Bennie and Anna DiDonato (née Russo).
John is survived by his devoted wife, Iris DiDonato. He was a loving father to Daphne (Anthony) and Derek (Anna); cherished "Pop-Pop" to Sarah and Zach; and a proud "Great Pop-Pop" to James. He will also be dearly missed by many cousins, extended family, and friends.
John enjoyed a long career as a retail department manager. His true passion, however, was helping others. To his family, he was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix-It," a man whose kindness and generosity were boundless. He was the first to lend a hand, always putting others before himself, a spirit exemplified when he eagerly shared his talents to help build a pond with his neighbor.
His personal time was often filled with the creative passions he loved: building models and trains, crafting furniture, and making birdhouses. He also found quiet enjoyment in doing puzzles, assembling intricate Lego kits, and birdwatching. A source of great pride was the beautiful pond he designed and meticulously maintained in his own yard, creating a sanctuary for local wildlife. Above all, John cherished spending time with his family, who meant everything to him. His warm, selfless spirit left the world a better place.
A proud veteran, John, also served his country in the Army National Guard.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate John's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Evans. Interment to follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
Flowers are welcomed. Memorial contributions may also be made in John's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
