John Difilippantonio, 95, a lifelong Martins Creek, PA, resident, passed away Monday, September 30th, at Northampton Post Acute, Easton, PA.

John was born in Martins Creek, PA on July 23, 1929, a son of the late Guiseppe and Nancy (DiMizio) Difilippantonio.

He was the widower of Gloria L. (Vanzella) Difilippantonio who passed away in 2018.

John was employed as the Director of Maintenance at Slate Belt Medical Center in Bangor, PA, until retiring in 1993. Prior to that, John worked in construction and often talked about working on Kirby Field House at Lafayette College and PPL Cooling Towers in Martins Creek. John was first employed as a presser at the former Bangor Clothing, where he met his wife Gloria. John enjoyed antiques, and cars, and was an avid collector of old bicycles. He also enjoyed fixing and repairing anything that was broken and became known to his family and friends as "Mr. Fixit".

John proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. in the 840th Engineer Battalion stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medals with 2 Battle Stars, and the United Nations Service Medals.

He was a lifetime member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church in Martins Creek, PA.

John is survived by a daughter Valerie Stewart, wife of Douglas, a grandson Josh Stewart, husband of Elizabeth, and two great-grandchildren Ella & Jackson Stewart. He was preceded in death by six brothers Fiore, Thomas, Frank, Peter, Patsy, and Albert Difilippantonio, and two sisters Gloria Piscitello, and Mary Scarpantonio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4th at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, 6658 Church Street, Martins Creek, PA. The burial will be held at Church Hill Cemetery, Martins Creek, PA. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, Martins Creek, PA.
