Mr. John Daniel Dixon, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 23, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late Thomas Joseph "Tom" and Nancy (Minton) Dixon. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended school. John was inducted into the Unites States Army on February 12, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter M-16 Badge. He was transferred to the reserves on January 11, 1972 and was later honorably discharged with the rank of Private 2nd Class on February 11, 1975. John was a former security guard officer for various businesses in California for several years where he met his companion, Janette Griffin in 2000. He enjoyed building airplane models and military models, as well as, playing games on PlayStation. John passed away at 12:54 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood, Indiana.

John is survived by his companion, Janette Griffin of Vevay, IN; his sisters, Cecelia "Sissy" Paskal of Cincinnati, OH, and Angela Kay Little and her husband, Tim of Cincinnati, OH; his brother, Robert Thomas "Bob" Dixon of Cincinnati, OH; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph "Tom" and Nancy (Minton) Dixon.

John will be laid to rest with his father, Thomas Joseph Dixon in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
