John Russell Donston III, age 32, born on November 18, 1990, he left us on January 6, 2023. John leaves behind so many friends and family that loved him. He is survived by his parents; John and Kathy, sister Elizabeth, brother Eric, and beloved cat Finn. John also leaves behind his best friend and the love of his life, Hannah.
John Russell was an avid outdoorsman. He could often be found enjoying nature, kayaking, hunting, skiing, playing baseball, gardening, or out on the golf course. One of his favorite outdoor spots was the family cabin in Pennsylvania. John also enjoyed cooking on his Traeger Grill, riding around in his Jeep, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He even braved negative temperatures to root on his Cleveland Browns from the Dawg Pound.
He was inspirational, kind and generous, always funny and quick witted. John was the light in any room he walked into and everyone knew his name. Meeting John would often mean meeting a new best friend for life. He was always eager to help and would do anything to help someone in need. As a donor, John's last unselfish act was giving the gift of life to those in need.
The family will receive friends 4-7pm Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, OH 44321. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lifebanc at www.lifebanc.org.

Kelly´s words are so true and so beautiful. John held a special place in the hearts of so many. My last memory of him was New Years Eve. I´m so glad I was able to give him a hug that night. What a beautiful person. He will be missed and his memory will surely live on. May the hearts of his family find solace remembering him and his smile. Please know that he was loved by so many.

"There are some who bring a light so bright to the world that even after they have gone the light remains."
John certainly brought that light to our Tavern family and to so many.
He will live on forever in our hearts and in the wonderful memories we have of him.
We are so incredibly sad for his family and friends, but so thankful to have known his light, his heart, his wit and his sweet, silly smile at least for a little while.
