John A. Dylis, 90, of Schuyler entered into the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
He was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1933. John grew up in Utica and was educated in local schools. Upon high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS as an electronics instructor. He was joined in Biloxi by his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Earl. They were wed on November 26, 1953.
John took his Air Force knowledge and expertise to the Hewlett-Packard Company, where he made a career as an electronics sales engineer. John and Charlotte eventually made their home in Schuyler where they raised 6 daughters. He will always be fondly remembered by his children as a gadget guy who could fabricate or fix anything.
John's greatest pride and legacy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 71 years and his 6 cherished daughters and their spouses, Debra Dylis-Weakley, Susan Dylis, Karen (Brad) Gorea, Cynthia (Scott) Wilson, Alicia (Eric) Fachon, and Elena (Scott) Beattie. He is also survived by 12 beloved grandchildren and 9 adored great-grandchildren. He will be missed by countless people whose lives he touched over the years, including many nieces and nephews. John was grateful for the special attention and compassion he received from a special niece, Lindy Tuzzolino, and close family friends Lorraine Loftus and Liz Maciewicz.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be determined by the family.
