John Edmonds Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Home - Walled Lake on Dec. 17, 2025.
It is with saddened spirits that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, John Edmonds, who departed this life and entered the arms of his Savior on December 13, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on February 21, 1935, he devoted his life to the Lord, and his faith guided him in all that he did. He loved attending church services, served as a deacon, ran the Crossroads and jail ministries where he and Barbara shared their faith, and inspired others.
He and his beloved wife, Barbara, celebrated an amazing 70 years of marriage, sharing countless adventures and building a family of 87 rooted in love and compassion.
As a long time, Ford Motor employee and an avid automobile enthusiast, John could often be found tinkering in the garage, working on classic autos, building his own cedar strip canoe, and sharing his passions with those around him. His love for travel took him and his family to many beautiful destinations including all 50 states, creating lasting memories and stories that will be cherished for generations.
Having served in the military, Dad exemplified honor and dedication, values he instilled in his family. He went on to complete two years of Business School and four years Apprenticeship. His kind spirit, gentle demeanor, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed. John will be remembered for his warm smile, his corny jokes, and his ability to bring people together with silly songs, sayings and stories. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Kevin, Dawn (Michael), Darren (Cindy) Shelynn (Mike), Julie (Kevin), 41 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren as well extended family members who loved him dearly. John is preceded in death by their son Clayton.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Walled Lake MI, where family and friends are invited to share their memories and say their final goodbyes. Donations can be made to Galilean Baptist Church Mission Fund supporting foundations that were close to his heart. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday 1-8 PM and Saturday 10 AM until time of service.
Though we miss him greatly, we rejoice in knowing he is with the Lord he loved so dearly.
