It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Howard Eichhorn, 92, who peacefully left us on March 11, 2025, at the Lightway's Hospice Home in Joliet, formerly of Chicago. Born on December 21, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, John lived a full and remarkable life. He proudly served his country in the Marines during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
After his military service, John dedicated himself to a long and fulfilling career as a lithographer in the printing press industry. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment, he touched many lives throughout his career.
John is survived by his loving family: two sons, John (Karen) and William Eichhorn; his daughter, Julie (the late Steve) Zamolewicz; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (the late Bernard) Eichhorn. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Lyssa Eichhorn, Sarah Eichhorn, Anna (Robert) Musolino, and Catherine (Ricardo) Zavala, along with his great-grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, Olivia, Viviana, and Vinnie.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring John's life at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. Visitation begins at 11:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. John will be laid to rest privately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
