Beloved son of Joseph Frank and Edna (Berge) Elsasser.

John grew up in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan Township High School. He participated in the band program. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business.

He was a proud member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. His graduate work was done at Florida State University and led to a long career in banking.

He served honorably in Vietnam and will be interred at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 10:00 am on Friday, September 5, 2025. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery no earlier than 9:40am.
