John Wayne Ervin

John Wayne Ervin, known affectionately to his friends and family as Johnny, passed away due to natural causes on January 8, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on October 29, 1949, in Terrell, Texas, Johnny's life was a testament to his intelligence, kindness, and affable spirit.

Johnny was the cherished son of the late J. V. and Lanita Ervin, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He was a brother to Joan Craig and Jerry Ervin, both of whom preceded him in death, and a comforting presence to his surviving sister Anita Palmore and her husband, Archie, who reside in Seagoville, Texas. Johnny's daughter, Ingrid Ervin, preceded him in death and his legacy continues through his beloved daughter, Valeri Ervin of Arlington, Texas, and his grandchildren, Chelsea and Clayton Ervin and great grandson, Jay Joblin.

An alumnus of Dallas Baptist University, Johnny's commitment to his education was paralleled only by his dedication to his career. For over three decades, Johnny was a respected and valued employee of Print-Pac, where his expertise and genial nature earned him the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Johnny was an avid fisherman, a pace that reflected his love for the outdoors and his patient, contemplative personality. Many who knew Johnny will fondly recall his tales of the one that got away and the serenity he found at the water's edge.

His absence will be profoundly felt by a host of relatives, including many cousins, and a community of friends who were fortunate enough to have known him. Johnny was the epitome of a gentleman, always approachable, ever intelligent, and unfailingly kind.
