Wayne West, 87 years old, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Wayne’s services are scheduled as follows:

Wayne was born to Harvey and Marie West on November 3, 1938, in Hobart, Oklahoma. Wayne spent his formative years growing up in Midlothian, Texas, and graduated from Midlothian High School in 1956. Upon his high school graduation, Wayne attended the University of Texas in Austin, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy in 1960. Shortly afterwards, Wayne married Betty Janette Seeton on August 27, 1960, and they established their home in Corsicana, Texas where Wayne worked for Miller Reid Pharmacy until sometime in 1962. Later that same year, the Wests moved to Mineral Wells, Texas when Wayne accepted a job as a pharmacist for Hilley’s, Incorporated. Still working for Hilley’s, Wayne and Betty moved to Burleson, Texas in 1988 so that he could serve as a pharmacist at that location. When Hilley’s sold to Eckerd Drug in 1989, Wayne continued to work at the former Hilley’s location for Eckerd until 1990, when he began working for Ron’s Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. Wayne later became partners with Ron Cheyne, the owner of Ron’s Pharmacy, and formed what is now known as Best Value Pharmacies, Incorporated. Together with Ron and Ron’s brother, Royce Cheyne, Wayne helped grow the Best Value company into multiple stores in the North Texas area.

Wayne was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, having given his life to Him at an early age. Wayne was in church whenever the doors were open, and served faithfully in Corsicana, Mineral Wells, and Burleson. Wayne most recently served in a variety of roles at First Baptist Church in Burleson, including Sunday School leader/teacher, deacon, and trustee. His commitment to Jesus influenced every aspect of his life, and he tried to lead as many people to Heaven as he could by sharing the Gospel of Christ with everyone throughout his daily life. Outside of his church and pharmacy responsibilities, Wayne was a member of the Mineral Wells Kiwanis Club from 1962 to 1989, and served on the Mineral Wells School Board. Wayne was later actively involved in the Burleson Rotary Club, beginning in 1992, and was a member of the Texas Pharmacy Association and the National Community Pharmacist Association.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Mary Alice Grounds and her husband Darrell. Wayne is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty West; his daughters Lydia Wilson and her husband, Tom of Burleson, Texas; Marianna Barham and her husband, Ronnie of Burleson, Texas; Chere Griever and her husband, Glenn of Burleson, Texas; and Amy Hunter and her husband, Troy Lowe of Burleson, Texas. Wayne is survived by multiple grandchildren including: Todd Barham and his wife, Krystal of Cleburne, Texas; Carrie Taylor of Granbury, Texas; Jordan Barham and his wife, Hillary of Mansfield, Texas; Ruthie Murry and her husband, Jarod of Burleson, Texas; Weston Hunter and his wife, Cheyenne of Coleman, Texas; Annabeth Fraim and her husband, Parker of Burleson, Texas; Cody Griever and Lexi Uselton of Burleson, Texas; and Brandon Barham and his wife DeAndra of Blum, Texas. Wayne is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends who will miss him and his wisdom every day.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either First Baptist Church of Burleson or Hope Church of Cleburne, Texas.
