Steven Mark McLemore, of Waxahachie, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Yantis, Texas, at the age of 71. He was born on October 27, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, to R.H. McLemore and Mary-Etta (Thomas) McLemore.
Steven graduated from Midlothian High School in 1973 and soon began a lifelong career in plumbing. At just 17 years old, he earned his journeyman plumber’s license, becoming the youngest licensed journeyman plumber in the state of Texas at that time. He dedicated many years of service to TDIndustries, where he built a reputation for hard work, skill, and reliability, before retiring eight years ago.
One of Steven’s proudest professional accomplishments was his role in the construction of AT&T Stadium, where he oversaw and handled all plumbing for the stadium buildout. It was an achievement he spoke of with great pride.
After retiring, Steven moved to Waxahachie to be closer to his daughters, valuing the time he was able to spend with family. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing, but nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them, he was known as “Grampy.” He was a constant presence and an important part of their daily lives.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, R.H. and Mary-Etta McLemore; and one brother, Randy McLemore.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Gina Morris and husband Chad of Waxahachie, Amanda Tennery and husband Jeremy of Huntsville, and Lindsey Thompson and husband Craig of Waxahachie; one brother, Dennis McLemore and wife Debbie of Venus, TX; Sister-In-Law, Hazel McLemore of Waxahachie; five grandchildren, Tori Dyson and husband Kory, Trey Reynolds and wife Marissa, Jake Tennery, Madi Thompson, and Mark Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Roger, Mary-Etta, and Kaiden; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral service for Steven McLemore will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations. Graveside service will follow at Colony Cemetery in Alba. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers are Randall McLemore, Craig Thompson, Jonathon Jobe, Doug Boyd, Tanya Petty, and Kory Dyson.
Honorary pallbearers are Trey Reynolds (grandson; proudly serving in the U.S. Army, currently deployed in Kuwait), Dennis McLemore, Mark Thompson, Kaiden Reynolds (Trey's son, standing in honor of Trey in his absence), and Johnny Jobe.
