John F. Evans

John Evans, 61, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on April 19, 1962, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Paul Evans and the late Arlene (Elmer) Burleson. John was united in marriage to Jill M. Tassler on November 1, 1985, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
John previously owned Decatur Glass and also sold used vehicles for ten years. Prior to owning his own business, he was the District Manager for Quality Glass in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He enjoyed attending auctions. His love for Nascar racing was unparalleled. John was also a skilled craftsman, taking pleasure in home improvements, vehicle maintenance, and woodworking. He loved being silly around his grandchildren.
John is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Joshua) Pike of Wilmore, Kentucky; son, Jared Evans of Knoxville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Alexis Evans, Hudson Pike, Archer Pike, Lennox Pike, and Stella Pike; sister, Suzanne Neuhaus of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Tina (Chuck) Derickson of Monroeville, Indiana; brother-in-law, Gary Edmondson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, five step-siblings, David, Pat, Carol, Charlene and Richie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Edmondson.
