John Carl Farrar, 78, of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1946, and lived a life defined by service, devotion, and love for his family.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he dedicated his career to TU Electric, where he worked until his retirement.

He married the love of his life, Angela Farrar, and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, building a family grounded in love, laughter, and strength. John was the proud father of two daughters, Sundae Easley and Lauren Gentry, and a cherished father-in-law to Dane Easley and Chris Gentry. He adored his grandchildren – Kaitlyn Luck (married to Tanner Luck), Kaleb Easley (engaged to Kaci Jackson), Hudson Gentry, Kaden Easley, and Jake Gentry – each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Temple. John was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bobbie Ann Farrar, who instilled in him the values of hard work, devotion, and faith.

John was a man of balance: funny yet stern, goofy yet serious. He had a unique way of guiding his family with both wisdom and humor. Above all, John ensured that his loved ones never went without-his unwavering dedication and selflessness were at the heart of who he was.

Beyond his devotion to family, John found peace and joy in the outdoors. Deer hunting was one of his greatest passions, and the quiet of the woods gave him a special kind of comfort. He and Angela also loved camping with their close friends from church, cherishing the fellowship, laughter, and memories made under the open sky.

A man of faith, John was a longtime member of South Jefferson Baptist Church, where he valued community, worship, and service.

During his illness, John was blessed with the care and compassion of many, but the family would like to especially recognize Nikki from Purple Hearts Home Health, and Melissa and Gabby from Cypress Basin Hospice, whose dedication and kindness were a crucial source of strength and comfort to him.

At this time, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, whose care and compassion meant so much during John's final days. John's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
