John Fela Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2025.
John "Jack" Fela, of McHenry, Illinois, passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 12, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Jack lived a life marked by dedication to his country, a passion for classic pastimes, and deep love for his family.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army, embodying a spirit of commitment and service that remained with him throughout his life. His interests reflected a zest for life and a love of motion-he was an avid car racing enthusiast and had a special appreciation for antique cars. Whether behind the wheel or under the hood, Jack found joy in the world of automobiles. He also enjoyed time on the golf course and was known as a skilled bowler. Those who knew him well will remember his playful side-especially his fondness for sneaking around with a mischievous grin.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fela. He is lovingly remembered by Maria Mokstad; Gina Rangel; Jesse Rangel; Danielle Dominic Rangel; Vincent Rangel; Anthony Mokstad; Lisa Panek; Rylee Mokstad; and Skyler Mokstad. He was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren who brought immense joy to his later years.

Jack's memory will live on through those who shared in his laughter, passions, and stories. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him.

After I crashed a car, Jack called me Crash for months! I like to think Jack and I had a special bond. There was never a time he didn't ask about little Mikey. Gonna miss you Jack!

Jack was my late husband, Kerry's very dear friend. I knew Jack for 50 years. His obituary says exactly what he was...fun, witty, daring, devoted. He loved his family, friends and country. Some of my greatest memories in my younger days included Jack and his antics. He can now celebrate his birthday and Kerry's birthday together again - something they loved to do! I am living in McHenry next to him and Maria because Jack said, "Mar, it's perfect for you." It is and I love it. I will miss you always, dear friend. Your pain has ended. Rest in peace, Jackie Mo.

when i was 16 years old , jack helped me get my driver's license after failing the driving test twice, he duked the guy 20.00 to pass me, then he got me my very first car shortly thereafter, jack and his customers where people i liked being around. i learned a great deal from them at a young age. a guy named rocky peil was a regular at his tavern, he started me washing windows as a helper. i have now been a self employed window cleaner for the last 41 years. ill never forget you jack fela. god bless you.
