John H. Ferguson Jr.

John Henry Ferguson, Jr. was born on April 16, 1950.
He graduated from Eastside High School where he excelled in Basketball. He continued his higher education at New Haven Cold Upsala College. His love for basketball and sports continued throughout his life.
After working as a Security Officer in Paterson Public Schools, later he worked as an Environmental Remover with Local Union # 1030 in Passaic until he retired. John was a true fisherman. He went on a variety of fishing excursions with a group of friends. He shared his love of fishing with his nephew Robert as they ventured on many trips together.
To say that John loved his family and friends is to minimize its impact. He was a father figure to many, sharing his wisdom, love and advice with a smile.
John departed this life on Friday, December 12, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Walter and Frank, and a niece, Shleen Bell.
John leaves to cherish precious memories his three sisters, Alice Garvin (NJ), Inez Ferguson (GA), and Ellen (James III) Due (CA); nieces and nephews, Barbara (Herman) Brown, Robert Ferguson, Sartell Bell, David (Jhacky) Due, Cathy Due, Rachel Due, Roxane Due, Talecia Due, James IV (Rechae) Due, and Timothy. He is also survived by his aunt Ruth Brown, a special granddaughter, Iynnah Drakeford; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and friends. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
