John Alfred Fernandez

John Fernandez, 81, of Tampa, Florida, passed away following a long illness on August 12, 2025. John was born on May 9, 1944, in Tampa, Florida. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and of the University of South Florida, both in Tampa. John was most proud of his long career with DuPont, where he played roles in both research laboratory management and sales of chemical, electronic, and computer hardware solutions. A keen fisherman and hunter, John was predeceased by his wife, Jo Alice, in 2021. He is survived by two daughters, Kristien Fernandez-Everett (John Everett) and Lauren Fernandez, both of Tampa; and a granddaughter, Lily. A private interment at L'Unione Italiana Cemetery, 2520 E. 24th Avenue, Tampa, FL will be held on September 5, 2025, by invitation only. Lauren, Kris, Lily, and John invite John's friends and family to an open house at 12008 Nicklaus Circle, Tampa, FL, 33624 at 11:30am on September 6, 2025. Food and drink will be served, and we welcome you to bring your fond memories of John to share.
