John Vincent Fischetti

John V. Fischetti, 73, passed away on December 3, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, John's life was defined by service, family, and a love of storytelling.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen Fischetti; and his children, Tara, John, and Rosanna. He was the proud grandfather of Jack, Julia, Joseph, John, Grace, Lawrence, and Logan; and cherished his son-in-law, Mike; son-in-law, Lawrence; and daughter-in-law, Tracy. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma; his brothers, William (Zelli) and Joseph; and his sisters, Kitty and Leila (Cookie).

John served his country with distinction as a Vietnam Veteran, completing two tours with the Marines before joining the Army, where he honorably served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired as a First Sergeant (1SG) and later settled in Florida.

Beyond his military career, John found joy in music, playing guitar and even forming a band after retirement. He had a lifelong passion for Ford Mustangs, owning them throughout much of his life. Known as a gifted storyteller and a vault of military historical knowledge, John enriched the lives of those around him with his wisdom, humor, and dedication.

A funeral service will be held this spring at Jefferson Barracks, where John will be laid to rest surrounded by his loving family, who will miss him dearly.
