John H. Flahive, 87, of Lower Makefield Township, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was raised in Brightwaters, NY. John graduated from the St. Patrick's School in Bayshore, NY, Cranwell Prep of Lenox, MA, Georgetown University, and he received his MBA from New York University. John enjoyed a successful career as a financial advisor and partner of Furman Selz Capital Management. He was a longtime Lower Makefield resident and a parishioner of St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church. He was a member of the Black Rock Gun Club of Plainsboro, NJ, and he was proud to have served in the U.S. Marines.
Son of the late Eugene F. and Janet (Laidlaw) Flahive and brother of the late Janet Funkhouser.
He is survived by his loving wife Mariann (Gaiser) Flahive, 2 daughters Kimberly Wasik and Kathleen Olivari (Rose), his sister Clotilda Flahive, 3 grandsons John and Alexander Wasik, and Frederick Olivari (Nina).
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church 999 Reading Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind (www.guidingeyes.org).
Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
