Toby H. Catanese, 80, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Worcester.

Toby was born on the U.S. Naval Base on May 22, 1945 in Sampson, New York. She worked for many years as a Receptionist, Secretary, Principal Clerk, Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant for many companies both in New York and Worcester Massachusetts, including lawyers.

She was predeceased by her parents Hattie (Seltzer) and Abe (Mike) Kaikow, as well as her second husband Vincent J. Catanese in 2010.

Her grandmother Toby Esther Seltzer who she was named for passed before her birth. Her grandfather, Hyman Kaikow also passed before she was born. Her grandfather Frank and grandmother Lillian Seltzer and grandmother Vera Kaikow also passed. She also lost her best friend Lola, her Shih Tzu.

She leaves behind her son Joel and his wife Deb Zukoff of Worcester, MA, as well as three stepsons, daughters-in-law and 4 step-grandchildren.

She graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY and attended Hunter College and New York University.

She and her husband Vincent worked for many years in the Trade Show & Exhibit business and started their own company Catanese Design Associates.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 12:00 P.M. at Rural Cemetery, 180 Grove St. in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
