Daniel J. Connolly Jr., 77, of Worcester, died on September 14, 2025 at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center, University Campus.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Floryn J. (Muradian) Connolly; two children, Christopher D. Connolly and his wife Stephanie of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jennifer E. Connolly of Arlington, Va.; three sisters, Elizabeth A. Davis of Warwick, R.I., Norine T. Carrigan of Hampton, N.H. and Catherine Donnellan and her husband Kevin of Auburn; his best friend of 65 years Arthur (Buddy) Brousseau of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Daniel was born in Worcester, son of Daniel J. and Elizabeth B. (Sullivan) Connolly and grew up in Auburn. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in Worcester and Worcester State University where he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Education and Mathematics.

After several years teaching in the Worcester Public Schools, he began a long career in the private sector. He started in the purchasing office for the H.H. Brown Shoe Co. in Worcester, where his father worked. Dan next took a position in the technology industry. He spent more than 40 years with a series of high-tech companies including Tyco Telecommunications and Arris, where he was the Senior Manager of Vendor Operations responsible for global repair of company products. He retired in 2015.

Daniel enjoyed traveling around the world. For work and vacations with his wife Floryn, he visited countless places including Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Singapore and Ireland. They also enjoyed their frequent family trips to their home on Cape Cod and Disney World.

Dan was an avid reader and serious fan of the Patriots and Red Sox. Most importantly, he was a sincere and honest person who loved his family and cherished the holidays and all the other times he spent with his family. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a calling hour Saturday, Sept. 27, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in Dan's memory.
