Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kilgore Funeral Home, LLC - Tullahoma on Mar. 4, 2026.
John Scott Fletcher of Lynchburg passed away on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family at the age of 84. John was born December 23rd, 1941 in Manchester, TN to the late John William and Nettie Lucille Fletcher. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1961. Mr. Fletcher worked as a talented agriculture equipment mechanic for more than 30 years- most notably at A &G Equipment and Bartlett Implements before retiring from Sverdrup in 2006 as a maintenance technician. Mr. Fletcher was a member of County Line Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, and nature walks. He was a very talented craftsman and mechanic with an eye for perfection in everything that he created, built, or repaired. He never turned down a person who needed his help, especially if he was tasked with a new woodworking project. He was always glad to share the vast knowledge and experience he had acquired over his many years. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Fletcher; three brothers, Rondell, Eddie, and Phillip Fletcher; and one sister, Gloria Bush. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Cyree Fletcher; one sister, Brenda Anderson of Morrison, TN; one daughter, Lorrie McKenzie Snapp (Bill); two grandsons, Jared (Sierra) and Evan McKenzie; one granddaughter Erin Williams (Brandon); and two great-grandchildren Charlie Beth Williams and Liam Douglas McKenzie – all of Lynchburg, TN. Visitation for Mr. Fletcher will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:30pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jim Sanders officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in John's memory be made to either The Muscular Dystrophy Association- WEB PO Box 7410354 Chicago, IL 60674-0354; or Camp Joy in Lynchburg, TN – PO Box 8192 Lynchburg, TN 37352.
