MEMORIES OF JOHN MANUEL FLOREZ

Grandchild:

He always took my brother, grandmother and me to dinner. Just us 4. He always made sure we went out for dinner, but would drive really slow.

Roger:

I remember that as a child he would always bring home unwrapped Nestle chocolate bars and I would sneak them out of the fridge. I remember long drives on Highway 101, and we would talk of all sorts of things. I remember listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller album. He enjoyed hearing Vincent Price's laugh at the end of the song. I remember endless margaritas at our favorite restaurant - Sinaloa's. My father loved his wine while singing to Vicente Fernandez. He was a caring father and always gave good advice. My father will always live in my heart and I will always hear his voice. I'll miss you Dad.

Storie:

He alway made the time and energy to acknowledge me and ask how I'm doing every day.

Victoria:

My memory of my father in law was he always sang Happy Birthday to us. He always enjoyed margaritas.

Brittany:

Going to different golf courses to have breakfast or dinner. Also going to the airport for dinner and watching the planes while enjoying dinner. Watching him enjoy his glass of wine. Stirring it in his glass first, then taking his first sip. Usually saying, "Oh this is a good one."

Tyler:

Every so often Tampa would give a hug without letting go, so strong that I knew he was saying that he truly loved and cared even without saying any words. I still remember that simple hug he gave even years later, an unbroken expression of love in a world that needs it.

Trevor:

When I was little my grandfather would volunteer to distribute holiday turkeys and groceries to those in need. When Grandma took us to pick him up, he was always smiling which made me feel like he appreciated helping people however he could.

Jon and Kirsten

Dad was such a friendly, social person. He could converse with anyone and make a personal connection. This gift made him a good priest and an unforgettable Dad/Grandpa. He loved a good joke, a good meal, and family around him. We were lucky enough to share decades of barbecues, holidays, and birthdays together. He shared his love for the Lord with everyone that spent time with him. God bless you Dad. We love you.
