John Foster Obituary

Brother Foster and his late Betty lived many years in Andalusia and were both active in our community. He faithfully served the First Baptist Church members as their minister and served as interim pastor to many congregations in our area.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, August 21st at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Kevin Wilburn officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Foster of Birmingham; two sons and daughter-in-law, Nick Foster of Columbia, MO and Steve and Jana Foster of Birmingham; three stepsons, Larry Bagley of Grove Hill, Johnny Bagley of Wetumpka, and Terry Bagley of Cullman; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Foster; daughter, Angela Foster Robuck; parents, Rufus Marvin Foster and Mildred Nichols Foster; one brother, R. M. Foster, Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Rearden and Betty Hamby.

I served with Bro. John in Andalusia during the mid 1990´s. He was both mentor and friend during those years. He and Betty were great examples of living for Christ.

Bro. Foster was such a blessing to my family while at Lakewood and beyond. He and my Dad were good friends through the years sharing a love of golf and humor, and he sweetly came and ministered to us when my Mother was dying and gave the eulogy at my Mother's funeral. I know he is hearing " Well done my good and faithful servant" and hugging his precious Angela. My condolences to Nick and Steve.

I served with Betty Foster in Sunday School,
Training Union, and YWAs at Lakewood.
Jim and I sometimes socialized with them and
Ben and Eloise Henderson at Lakewood. Fond memories.
