Funeral services for John Fragala, Jr., 73, of Archibald, LA were held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA. Interment was in the Urania Cemetery, Urania, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. John was born August 7, 1951 in Rayville, LA and passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his residence in Archibald, LA. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Fragala; and sister Catherine "Cathy" Fragala.
John Fragala, a little Italian man with a BIG personality. He was an honored and respected member of the Louisiana State Police. Here is where he began his career in law enforcement. During the twenty-four years he served as a trooper with Troop-F he gained many coworkers, turned friends and eventually becoming family. After retirement from LSP he followed a passion of his and started Fragala Enterprises, a business doing dirt work and operating heavy equipment. Proceeding his years as owner and operator of Fragala Enterprises, he found his way back into law enforcement. As Captain over investigations for Richland Parish Sheriff's Department, for two years, he finished up his years in the work force.
His professional accomplishments were many, but more importantly were the personal relationships he made with individuals as he navigated throughout his lifetime. Throughout his career he made an impact in the life of every person he ever met, whichever side of the law you were own, you remembered John Fragala. Though he is best known for his time spent in law enforcement his greatest achievements were met at home as successfully fulfilled his roles as husband, Daddy and Poppy. He is in the hearts of many where his memory will forever be and the stories of his time on this earth will be passed down for generations.
Survivors include his wife of 53 Years, Inez Fragala of Archibald, LA; children, Kimberly Fragala Friedel and husband, Bobby, John William Fragala, Tyler Fragala and wife, Mandy, Emily Fragala Wyant; and grandchildren, Matthew Friedel, Catherine Friedel, Caden Fragala, and Macie Rose.
Pallbearers were members of the Louisiana State Police Honor Guard.
