John Bruce Freeman, 78, husband of Judy Tant Freeman, of Easley, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
Born in Pickens County, he was raised by his late mother, Rosa Ridley Freeman and his late aunt Bert Harbin.
Papa worked with Eastern Airlines for 22 years and later retired from Cryovac.
Papa loved to go fishing, bowling, and playing golf. He also loved his politics and was an avid Clemson Tigers fan. He loved his family and loved supporting them in their sporting events.
Papa was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and proudly served with the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his "First" loving wife of over 58 years, Papa is survived by his son, Michael Shane Freeman (Amy) of Auburn, AL; his daughter, Jennifer Morton (Rodney) of Six Mile; a brother, Ray Freeman of Easley; his grandchildren, Rebecca and Julie Freeman, Jalen Derrick, Taylor Skinner (Tyler), and Devon Morton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Freeman; sisters, Wadean Masters and Wanda Griffith; and his biological father, John Benton Freeman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
The family requests that attendees to please wear Clemson colors: white, orange, or purple. No garnet red!
