John J. "Johnny" Fruci Jr., 64, of Bourne, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2025. A beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Johnny will be remembered for his infectious spirit, endless generosity and unwavering love for his friends and family. Born on June 25, 1961, in Norwood, Massachusetts,
John was the son of John Fruci Sr. and the late Judith (MacRae) Fruci. He grew up in Canton surrounded by his four siblings. Summers were spent on the family boat (The Seven J's) and later at their summer home at Pinehurst Beach in Wareham. From an early age, Johnny's outgoing nature, humor, and generous heart drew people in-traits that would define him throughout his life.
John met his wife Maureen (Blake) on a blind date arranged by their two best friends. They were partners for 39 years, together raising their two beloved daughters, Alyssa and Alexandra, who were his pride and joy. He coached his daughters' sports teams and taught them the joys of fishing, passing along his enthusiasm and sense of humor. Johnny's happiest moments were those spent at home with his family-grilling his favorite foods, watching movies or cheering on his cherished Celtics and Patriots while enjoying his favorite snacks.
A Master Plumber by trade, John was known for his tireless work ethic and dedication to his craft. As a dedicated team member at Rick Clayton Home Services, he was always available and ready to work. His colleagues relied on him not only for his skill but also for his humor and good nature. Whether it was a late-night service call or a neighbor in need, Johnny never hesitated to lend a hand. His generosity extended far beyond his professional life-if you needed help, he was there.
Outside of work, John found joy in the simple but profound pleasures of life: saltwater fishing on the Cape with his brothers and friends, golfing with his father and daughter Alex, and snowmobiling with his brother Jeff during the winter months. Johnny had a magnetic personality. Outgoing and full of life, he never met a stranger he couldn't turn into a friend. His booming laugh and quick wit filled every room he entered. Family gatherings, holidays and social occasions were brighter because Johnny was there-sharing jokes, stories, and imitations that left everyone smiling. To his many nieces and nephews, he was "Uncle Johnny," a larger-than-life presence who made every gathering brighter.
John is survived by his wife, Maureen; his daughters, Alyssa and Alexandra; his father, John Sr.; his brothers, Jim Fruci (Sandi), Jeff Fruci (Cammie), Jay Fruci (Christine) and his sister, Joanne Germano. He is also survived by his sister in-laws Kathy Kelly and Patty Blake McMahon and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Friday, October 31st from 1-5 pm at the Brookside Golf Club, 11 Brigadoon Road, Bourne, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's honor can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the
American Lung Association.
