John L. Gauley

John Leslie Gauley, July 23, 1944, passed away peacefully at home on Thanksgiving day November 28, 2024 at 2:30 in the afternoon. John's creative personality and lovable nature will be greatly missed. He survived by his wife Marie Louise (nee Rogers) Gauley, his brother George Gauley, and two daughters, Elizabeth (nee Gauley) her husband, Scott Goldstein and Rebecca ( nee Gauley) Smith. He's also survived by six grandchildren, and their families, Greg and Shannon (nee Housley) Morris, Caitlin More and great grandson, Finnley George More, Zephraim Goldstein, and Ezekiel Goldstein, Brennan and Delaney (nee Smith) Chambers and Jack Patrick Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father George Gauley, his mother Ann Gauley and his sister Denise Gauley.
John Gauley was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Henry Ford High School. He studied at Center for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit before going into the advertising business where he worked at Campbell Ewald and Grey Advertising as the Advertising Director and had the world's largest advertising budget for Chevrolet. He won an award for his work in advertising.
He developed a home furnishing business, providing furniture and wall decor. Later He became the advertising director for Wine World in Troy, Michigan. In 1985 he moved to Palm Springs, California. In 2007, he moved to Joshua Tree, California where he had built a home.
