John Giantonio Obituary
John Giantonio, also known as "G" age 73, was a longtime resident of Chester, PA, where he was born and raised. He passed away on May 14, 2024, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. John was a 1968 graduate of Chester High School. He co-owned G&G Machine and Engineering Co. with his father as a Master Machinist and worked alongside his brother, Joe, from 1971 to 1980. He then went on to work as Chief Machinist at Sun Oil Refinery and retired in 2008. Early on he was an avid bowler, playing in several leagues, and he was an avid sports enthusiast since the age of 8 with an encyclopedic knowledge of all sports games and players. He was a Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder since 1963. From 1982 until 2002 he owned and operated G's Park Grill in Parkside Pa. In his free time, he spent countless hours at his beach house on the Chesapeake Bay, fishing, boating, and crabbing with daughter, Megan, and socializing with his many friends at Buttonwood Beach Maryland. John was a member of the Harley's Owners Group of Delaware County and the Sons of the American Legion in Aston, PA.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ettore (Rip) and Genevieve (Jennie) Giantonio.
Survivors: Daughter: Megan Giantonio, Siblings: Dr. Donna Giantonio, Marie Giantonio-Miller (Thomas), Christina Giantonio Russo, (Mathew) and Joseph Giantonio (Shelley). Nieces and Nephews: Ryan Miller (Lori), Dana Miller, (Gregg) Ashley McLaughlin (John), Katherine Anne Russo, Raquel King, and Joseph Kaneda.
Visitation: Friday, May 31, 2024 6:30pm-8:30pm and Saturday, June 1, 2024 9:30am-10:30am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA 19014. Funeral Service: Saturday, June 1, 2024, 10:30am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Media Cemetery, Media, PA at 11:30am.
