John R. Gomes passed away on January 30th, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital.

John was an extraordinarily loving, caring, and generous man who brought light wherever he went. He was full of life and almost always smiling, a presence that instantly made people feel comfortable and welcomed.

One of John's greatest joys was feeding and entertaining others. He loved to cook, and his kitchen was a place of laughter, conversation, and togetherness. Sharing a meal with John was never just about food-it was about love, connection, and making sure everyone felt at home.

John had a deep love for football and was a proud New England Patriots fan. He followed the game with passion and enthusiasm, cheering wholeheartedly and enjoying every moment. He was also an accomplished billiards player, winning many championship games over the years-a testament to his skill, focus, and competitive spirit.

Professionally, John was deeply respected. His dedication and hard work earned him numerous trophies, many of which remain at home as symbols of his commitment, talent, and achievements.

Above all else, John will be remembered for his generous heart, his joyful spirit, and the love he so freely gave to others. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched, the meals he shared, the games he loved, and the smiles he inspired.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave, Milford CT.
