Abbeville- A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, February 24, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of John "Mike" Michael Granger, 75, who passed away on February 18, 2025, at Eastridge Nursing Center. Deacon Keith Duhon will officiate at the funeral service. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Thad Primeaux, Shannon Stevens, Hank Perry, Heath Doucet, and Randy Granger.
Born on March 5, 1949, in Abbeville, Mike was a proud graduate of Maurice High School in 1967. He further pursued his education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where he laid the foundation for a successful career in the oil industry. Mike served as a purchasing agent, working for esteemed companies including Brown & Root Industrial Services LLC. out of Morgan City, Red Fox Industries, Inc. out of the Port of Iberia, and A & F Fittings alongside his close colleague, Francis Rush. His professionalism and dedication to his work were evident throughout his career, earning him respect and admiration from peers and mentors alike. Mike was known for his love of travel, having explored the vast landscapes of America alongside his beloved wife. He had a deep appreciation for music—especially Motown and Swamp Pop. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, particularly the joy of barbecuing, which he often shared with family and friends. His warm spirit and zest for living will be missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Amy Cramer and her husband, Tony; brother, Dr. Glynn Granger and his wife, Nancy of Lafayette; two sisters, Margo Primeaux of Lake Charles, and Connie Perry and her husband, Hank of Duson; stepsons, Heath Doucet and his wife, Dana, and Brandon Doucet; sisters in law, Nadine Granger and Sharla Steen; four grandchildren, Allie Touchet, Damian Touchet, Braden Doucet, and Briley Doucet; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marina Manceaux; parents, Willie Granger and the former Hilda Trahan; stepdaughter, Tamara Doucet; brother, Peter Granger; sister, Myrna Stevens; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Primeaux and Robert Stevens.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Monday.
A special thank you to the entire staff of Eastridge Nursing & Rehabilitation for the compassionate care they provided for Mike. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially nurse Natalie Gray, for her unwavering support.
