John Melvin Green

John Melvin Green, 78, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Marion County, Florida. John was born on July 2, 1947, in Live Oak, Florida, and grew up in Miami, where he developed the grit, work ethic, and mechanical talent that would define his life.

John was the proud founder and owner of Green's Electric Motor, a business he built and operated for 50 years. His meticulous attention to detail, steady hands, and determination earned him a reputation as someone who always got the job done right. He was hardworking, exacting in the small things, and tough as nails in everything he did.

Outside of work, John's passions were as bold as he was. He loved riding Harleys, spending long days fishing, and he was an accomplished motocross and enduro racer. Whether on two wheels or out on the water, he lived life with a sense of adventure and independence.

John is survived by his children Jody, Christy, and David, as well as four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Bill Green and his life partner Tammy, who was by his side throughout his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Faye Green, his sister Pat Green, and his grandson Logan.

A Celebration of Life will take place during the summer, where family and friends will gather to share stories and honor his memory.

John will be remembered for his strength, his precision, his loyalty, and the grit that carried him through every chapter of his life.
