Mr. John Eldon Green

Funeral services for Mr. John Eldon Green, 79, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Cary officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 10, at the funeral home.

Mr. Green passed from this life on December 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born July 15, 1946, in Henderson to the late John and Dovie (Duncan) Green. John was raised in the Jumbo Community and attended the Minden school before moving on to Mt. Enterprise schools. He later moved to Henderson where he spent most all of his life.

Like many others, Mr. Green answered to the call to serve his country in the US Army. He was a gunner on a helicopter and was sent to Vietnam where he was shot down by enemy fire. He went on to serve 5 years in active duty then spent an additional 9 years with the US Army Reserves. John later became a truck driver and retired from Basic after 20 years of service. He had also driven for Lone Star during his career. He was a hardworking man but enjoyed fishing when he could and he loved to garden and play bingo. He wasn't much of a hunter but did enjoy shooting sports.

Mr. Green was an all-around devoted family man. He loved his family dearly with his big heart, and he would help anyone in need. John was also a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Henderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tina Fambro, and his grandson Kevin Wayne Thompson.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years Connie Green of Henderson; children Melissa Franks and husband Timothy of Jumbo, Karen Green of Carthage, John Eldon Green Jr. and wife Michelle of Longview, Bryan Golembeck and wife Shelley of Henderson, and Eric Golembeck and wife Michele of Lake Striker; sister Linda Cary of Pine Hill; brother Bobby Green and wife Ann of Jumbo; grandchildren Richard Thompson, Bryanna Crawford, Michaela Crawford, Donna Thompson, Dekoda Golembeck, Zachary Rahier, Jason Thompson, Alyssa Stewart, Celia Franks, Summer Golembeck, Hunter Franks, Stormi Franks, and Payton Golembeck; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Franks, Dekoda Golembeck, Payton Golembeck, Zachary Rahier, Jason Thompson, and Ryan Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Thompson and Aaron Crawford.
