John R. "Jack" Gregg

Waterford - John R. "Jack" Gregg, 81, of Waterford, formerly of Mystic, passed away at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Dec. 21, 2025. Jack was born in New London to Shad and Daphne Gregg. He attended Mystic and Groton schools, graduating in 1962 from Fitch Senior High School.

He worked for 47 years at Lombardi Gravel and Excavating as a diesel mechanic and will be remembered for his clever hands that could fix anything. ANYTHING. He loved to spend time anywhere near the ocean, tinkering with anything that needed fixing or improving, inside or out, but most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Barbara "Brandy;" and his children Anita (Frank), Tami (Kc), Jamey (Christy), Libby (Wes) and Johnny (Melissa); his sister Sandy; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and a granddaughter.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 400 Main Street, Niantic. Burial will be private for the family.
