When a friend of a friend becomes a friend is how I describe John. We met in high school (St. X) and again later in law school (UK). We ran a bit with Mark Gleason and shared laughs (and misery) in the halls of law school. Unfortunately, it would be a sad reason (Mark's passing) that would bring us back together. John was always easy-going and genuinely interested in other people...he was quick with words of encouragement, had a keen wit, and freely shared his sincere smile (his whole face lit up)...all of which made him good company. Sorry that time and distance proved too great a hurdle. Carry on, John. All my best to your family and friends.

John was such a postive influence on me growing up. Fun to be around. Witty. Charming. One of my favorite memories was when John, Kent Bartram and I "took" a fall break during college to go to Naples FL. UK didn't even have a fall break but we went anyway.
