John Blair Hachman, 80, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on January 31, 2026. He was born on June 9, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Cyril and Bernice Hachman.
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, John was brought to central Indiana via Franklin College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. While attending he was president of his fraternity, Kappa Delta Rho.
He served his military time with the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He served on the USS John W. Weeks and the USS Claude Rickets.
After his time in the Navy, he returned to Indianapolis and began a career in banking and finance. Initially, he worked for Merchants National Bank before moving on to Conseco. For the last twenty years of his career, he was a small business owner of a steel service center, Lebanon Steel.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy (Gregory), daughter Jennifer Hachman, son Matthew Hachman (Holly), grandson Jackson Hachman. He is also survived by his two sisters, Cheryl Hachman and Joyce (Larry) Blundell.
