Survivors include a daughter, Gabby Smiley of Oklahoma, brother, Bill Halley of Oklahoma, sisters, Pat Carson (Jay) of Darien, and Janie Cotton (Don) of Oklahoma, a niece, Kathleen Poppell of Darien.
Coming from Alaska, Jack had lived in Darien since 1993. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. Jack enjoyed wood working, working in his yard, and any activity outdoors.
