John Hamilton Obituary
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Martha Hamilton, who passed away on January 16, 2025. A devoted family patriarch and committed Christian, Jack lived a life rooted in faith, integrity, and service. His steady presence, wisdom, and love shaped generations of his family.
A graduate of Miami University and Duke University School of Law, Jack went on to enjoy a distinguished career as a Human Resource Executive with General Electric, where he was respected for his professionalism, leadership, and thoughtful approach to people and organizations.
In retirement, Jack and Martha moved from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, to Dataw Island near Beaufort, South Carolina, and later returned to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be closer to family-reflecting the central importance family held throughout their lives. He also cherished the mountains of western North Carolina landing in Cashiers while spending 40 years enjoying the natural beauty and peace of the region.
Jack was actively engaged in his community and personal interests. He was a dedicated member of Rotary and took great pleasure in golf, tennis, boating, and time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Glenn Hamilton (Jenny) and John Hamilton (Jeanie); his grandchildren, Taylor (Meghan), Anna (Luke), Drew (Ben), Jeffrey (Meredith), Kevin (Katie), and Dan (Madi); his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Aubrey, James, and Emerson; and his brothers, Jim and Bob.
Jack will be remembered for his deep faith, strong character, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy of love and Christian example will continue to live on in all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Twin Lakes in Cincinnati, Ohio. Interment will take place in Beaufort, South Carolina.
