John Albert Hartrick, 85, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Salem, Arkansas. John was born March 6, 1940, in Highfill, Arkansas to Dana D. Hartrick and Rosalia May (Hathaway) Hartrick.
John was united in marriage to Suzanne Bell on August 15, 1981, in Hood River, Oregon. John worked for many years as a Telephone Engineer and as a Charter Boat Captain in Alaska. John loved farming, woodworking, helping others, and doing community service. John was Past President of the Rotary in Alaska, was a member of the Fulton County Master Gardeners, served on the Fulton County Conservation District Board, Wasilla City Council, and Mat-su Assembly Planning and Commission. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, friend, and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas.
John leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Suzanne Hartrick of Salem, Arkansas; son, Gary Hartrick and wife Tiffani of Eagle Point, Oregon; two daughters, Deborah Marquez and husband Jason of Lake Elsinore, California and Brenda Rode and husband Matthew of Bend, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Doris Patnaude of Nampa, Idaho; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son (David Hartrick), parents (Dana and Rosalia Hartrick), and several half brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Backpack Program at the Salem United Methodist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
