John Healy, affectionately known as “Gump,” “Rocket,” and “Tito,” passed away on December 22 in Trenton, New Jersey, at the age of 45.
John was born on September 26, 1980, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and grew up in Piscataway. He attended Piscataway Vo-Tech, where he developed the hands-on skills and strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life.
John worked for Casella Sanitation, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable employee. At home, he was a true jack of all trades—always fixing things around the house, willing to take on any project, and rarely sitting still. Though he joked about being a “master of none,” those who knew him knew there wasn’t much he couldn’t handle.
He also enjoyed football and was a loyal fan of Notre Dame and the Baltimore Ravens, proudly cheering on his favorite teams.
John is survived by his parents, John and Robin Healy; his loving wife, Nicole; his children, Alexander Healy, Erick Healy, and Anthony Madden; and his sisters, Tammy Breen, Megan Healy, and Shannon Healy and niece and nephew Alyssa Breen and Gabriel Sierra.
Above all else, John was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his many nicknames, his willingness to help others, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in John’s memory to the Wounded Warrier Project.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 5 – 7 pm at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating John’s life will begin at 7:00 PM.
