Throughout his career, John worked as a machine operator for National Graphics, where he was known for his hard work and reliability. His years did not just go into his profession; they were complemented by his service in the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged. John embodied a sense of duty and commitment, values that he instilled in those around him.
"Funny" was an understatement when it came to John's personality. He had a distinct talent for making others smile, often using creative nicknames to bring laughter and lightheartedness to any situation. His charm shone through his love for dancing, which served as another avenue for his joyous spirit. Those fortunate enough to know him will fondly remember his quirky humor and the warmth he brought to life's gatherings.
A proud family man, John cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His talents in the kitchen shone brightly, especially when whipping up his renowned fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens. In his garden, he found peace and joy, nurturing not only the plants but also the relationships that grew around him.
John's legacy is one filled with pride for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Josephine Henderson, and their children: sons Keith, Michael (Anne), and Stanley Henderson, along with daughter Jennifer Henderson. His siblings, James Henderson, Mary (Monroe) Moody, Margret Moody, and Ellen (Joe) Long, carry forward his memory, as do his cherished grandchildren: Bruce Patrick, Jonai Patrick, Caroline Tavares, Kenisha Henderson, Appolonia Henderson, John Henderson, and Kris Henderson.
