John Christopher Henshall, 59, of Grove, OK, passed away on May 23, 2025, after an extended illness. Born on January 18, 1966, in Bartlesville, OK, John faced unique challenges from birth, having been born with Rubella Syndrome. Despite being deaf and blind in his right eye, John's enthusiasm for life and the outdoors never waned. He communicated through sign language and inspired many with his ability to embrace life's adventures.
John spent his leisure time engaging in various outdoor activities. He was an enthusiastic pool player, who also enjoyed
fishing and playing horseshoes. His spontaneous nature often led him to explore and appreciate the simple joys of being outside, regardless of the activity.
John is survived by his mother, Jessie, and stepfather, Robert Pearce, along with his brother, William Henshall. He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Henshall. His family remembers him as a spirited and inspiring individual who brought joy and understanding to their lives.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 5 from 5 to 7 PM at Nichol Stephens funeral service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Nichols Stephens Chapel in Grove, OK. John will be laid to rest at Ft. Gibson Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, alongside his father. Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services in Grove, OK, is assisting the family with arrangements.
