John Hester

John Alvin Hester, born June 1, 1946 in Bay Arkansas. He battled three primary cancers over the past 15 years. John passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at the age of 78 with his four children at his bedside in his home on May 12, 2025.
John was strong, caring, thoughtful, patriotic and a smart ass! He was a family man first, making sure his wife and kids were taken care of. John enjoyed spending time with his kids and definitely his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a huge heart and would lend a hand whenever anyone needed help, no questions asked.
John was passionate about riding his motorcycle. He bought his first motorcycle when he was 14 and never looked back. Whether it was riding with a club, his friends or family, John always had a smile on his face when on his motorcycle. He would always say he needed some "wind therapy."
John led a remarkable career of 40 years in the Electrical industry as an IBEW Journeyman Lineman and later a Safety Manager. He worked for multiple utilities and construction jobs across the United States and British Columbia Canada. John was always spoke highly of by his Managers, Supervisors, Foreman and Pole Partners. He said his most memorable day in his career was the day he was able to work with both his sons in the trade.
John is survived by his four children: Kelly Groenwold (Lakewood WA), John Hester (Las Vegas NV), Jodie Bracamontes (Hillsboro OR) and Shane Hester (Lake HavasuCity AZ). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and siblings Bertie Davidson, LaWanda Barr and Norma Cruz Luna.
John is predeceased by his wife Teri Hester, parents Hugh and Beula Hester and brothers Franklin Dodd, Ray Dodd and Sonny Hester.
John will be missed by all who loved him,
