It is with tremendous sadness that we announce after a long journey of cancer the peaceful passing of John H. Heyward Jr. surrounded by his loving family. John Heyward Jr. was a pillar in the community and in the trucking Industry; not to mention all the lives he touched. John was a mountain of a man who not only cared deeply for his family but was always there to lend a helping hand or to offer words of kindness, advice or encouragement to anyone in need. John had traditional values and always spoke his mind. He blazed his own trail, regardless of the obstacles, and did what he thought was right. John never shied away from hard work and took pride in all he did.
In his last moment he expressed his deep sentiments of love and affection to his family. His loss will leave a deep void in the hearts of all he met. John was predeceased by his parents John H. Heyward Sr., Elinor Heyward and son
Tyrone Wendal Heyward. He leaves to cherish his memories of his wife Barbara I. Heyward, and two sons Eric
and Dale Heyward, two sisters Brenda and Robin Heyward. Not to forget or mention many other family members and friends.
Honoring John's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will take place at Wesley Methodist Church in South Plainfield, New Jersey and the family will have a private burial at a later date.
