John Hill, 79, of Rockbridge, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1946, in South Bloomingville, the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Bone) Hill.
John served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for 42 years as an IT specialist for various companies. John was a longtime member and past governor of Lancaster Moose Lodge 955 and he also served as a board member for the Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
John is survived by his three daughters, Gina (Daniel) Roop Deppert of Ashland, Lara (Thomas) Uhl of Amanda, and Misty (Matt) McClaskey of Somerset; grandchildren, Alec, Garrett, Faith (Nicholas), Isaac (Ramey), Kylee (Gio), Taylor (Cameron), Mason (Elise), Mackenzie (Jeff), Montana (Charlie), Lilly (Ethan), Hoyt, and Eli; great-grandchildren, Meredith, Matilda, and one on the way; brother, Ernie Hill; sisters, Judy Gerber and Patsy Cole; and his dog, Maggie.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Hill; son-in-law, Albert Roop; and loving friend, Paula Enderle.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are with the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
