John D (Johnny) Holden, 77 of Lakeland, FL formerly of Victor, WV

passed away on Friday 07/18/25 following complications from a long

illness of Parkinson's Disease.

Born in Mt. Cove (Victor), WV, on October 3, 1947, he is the son of the

late John Calvin and Lillie Viola Tincher Holden.

Dad had several occupations throughout his working career. He was

literally the "Jack of all trades and Master of none". He worked in

construction, mechanic, business owner, city worker and even a city

police officer. But, in his heart, he was always a coal miner. He was

born into Hopewell Baptist Church where he remained as a lifelong

member.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Holden (2022),

and his brother, Fred Walker Suttle.

He is survived by his daughter Janet (Bryan) Johnson of Lakeland, FL,

son John D (JD) Holden (Taunya) of Victor, and 4 grandchildren--

Brynn Johnson (Colby Enlow) of Riverview, FL, Krislyn Holden of

Lewisburg, WV Amber Fleshman (Dylan Buckland) of Clarksburg, WV

and Woody Fleshman of Victor, WV. He is also survived by his sister,

Anna Ellison of Lincolnton, NC and way too many nieces/nephews to

mention.

Dad wanted to be cremated and buried alongside his wife at Good

Hope Church (Cemetery) in Lansing. Following with his wishes, there

will be a graveside service on August 10th at 3 pm at Good Hope.

Anyone who knew and loved Dad is invited to attend. Pastor Mike

Anderson will be officiating.
