John Hornbrook Obituary
He left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on April 29, 2024
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Colene and their children Robert (Ginger) and Shellee (Justin); his four grandsons, Lucas (Emily), Tristan, Aidan and Noah Collins; one granddaughter Addilyn Grace Hornbrook and a great granddaughter Alberta Kay.
John retired after 27 years with EVSC. He was the principal for 11 years at Howard Roosa School. He became a Professor at Oakland City University following his retirement, spending 12 years there. John also volunteered at Joshua Academy for three years.
John was a Choctaw Native American and was proud of his heritage. He became involved in the protection of Native American gravesites and was appointed by former US Senator Richard Lugar to be a delegate to the White House for Conference on Indian Education.
John also served three years as a member of the Indiana American Indian Council.
Visitation for John will be from 3pm to 5pm with a memorial service at 5pm will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Thursday May 2nd.

John was Principal at Howard Roosa when I first started there as an assistant. He was the best! Always had my back. I learned lots from him.
Prayers for the family! RIP Dr Hornbrook , no more pain, youre with Jesus now!
