John, I think of you often. It's been almost 50 years now since we last saw one another in the apt you shared with Ron Jackson. You were a good and close friend, and will never be forgotten.

Dear Hosler Family,

We extend our deepest condolences to the Hosler family. Our kids frequently talk about the heart Tx patients as "their extended family," so we grieve the loss of another family member. May the Lord surround you with His comforting arms.

John you will be missed. I know that your God son Bryan LaMarche already misses you. The kids Loved being able to some and spend time with you. The kids are also concerned with your dogs. They want to make sure that Maggy and Townsend are ok and someone is looking out for them. They loved the dogs as much as you. Little Mikey misses Lincoln the most out of the dogs and hopes that you are together in heaven now. You are loved and will be forever mmissed.

Hosler Family,
I first met Johnny at The Comedy Connection in Boston. He saw my application and saw that I was from Binghamton and took me right under his wing. From then on, a friendship grew. He taught me how to bartend and really taught me work ethic and compassion. He was very special to me and was a huge influence on my life. I hope you know that he touched so many of us from The Comedy Connection and many of the comics credit him with being instrumental in their success. We traveled the Boston/Binghamton route together a few times. He was one of those people that you could count on for ANYTHING. His advocacy for transplants has saved countless lives, please take solace in that. He will be missed by more people than you could ever realize. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I was very sorry to hear of John's passing. "Hobbit", as we called him at Oswego State, was full of life. He was a great room mate at Oswego, and also a riot to work with at a "certain" establishment on the South side of Binghamton. We had good times playing "flag" football (ouch), and Rugby (super ouch) at Owsego. He will be missed. My sincere condolences go out to his family.

John was my friend.....my friend. Love, laughter....THE WHO! He was there 4 me in 2 incredible missteps of my life, I don't know what I would have done had he not been there to slap the reality into me! He was incredibly understanding but yet....he never held back with how he felt! HE was so much fun, so giving, someone who I shall NEVER forget. I have many fond memories of a man that was giving to his friends, always there to lend an ear, and would tell you like it was whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was always honest....that's what a friend is. I will never forget the good times we had, the talks, the drives. I will never forget John & I will always cherish what he gave me. Peace my brother! I will always love you! - Cheryl

Dear Mrs. Hosler and Family, I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. He was always an especially great guy to me. I could call him up, out of the blue, and he would instantly reply with love, laughter and support. Even tho I could never influence him correctly, and we somewhat argued/laughed, about Bruins V. NYR and Boston V. NYY... he was, will always be, a great light in my life. I wish I had been able to be closer to him, sooner than this. Mrs. Hosler, You raised a great son and my thoughts and prayers are all about you and him right now. Our last conversation included you and the BMW! I will miss him greatly and dearly, and for good reason... You raised a wonderful son. All my love and sympathy to you, John, and the family/friends.
