John Raymond Hosler

John Raymond Hosler SchenectadyJohn Raymond Hosler, age 57, died unexpectedly March 21 2012, at his home in Schenectady, NY. He was formerly a resident of Endwell, NY, Boston MA, and Albany, NY. Born in Johnson City, NY in 1955, he was the son of Ruthmarie Hosler of Sarasota, FL and was predeceased by his father, Richard F. Hosler. John has two siblings, brother, Gary (Mary Lou) Hosler of Wyoming, MN; and sister, Eileen ( Glenn) Hosler-Simpson of Clifton Springs, NY. John attended Maine-Endwell HS and NYS University at Oswego. He was employed by the state of New York, and as a manager of Romano's Macaroni Grill in Albany. As a heart transplant recipient, John was a champion of the cause, educating the public about the gift of organ donation. As John always said, The real heroes are the donor families. Because of his transplant, the world had the gift that was John for nearly 10 years. John was also a volunteer for the Fuller Road Fire Department in Albany. He loved skiing and golf as well as shouting at hockey games. His joy was found with his dogs, Townsend and Maggie and his many friends, who were family for John. A private memorial service will be held in Hershey, PA in July 2012. Donations may be made in John's name to the American Heart Association or to the Fuller Road Fire Department, Albany, NY.
