John David Howell, 55, passed away on September 20, 2025 in Alton, IL. He was born January 1, 1970 to Harold and Donna Howell of Fayetteville, NC.

John was known for being willing to give the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. He lived his life on his terms and demanded his passing to be the same way. His decision, through his family, to donate his organs will assist at least 80 other people to carry on their lives, have their eyesight, their hearing, have their lungs fill with air again, their heart beat again, as well as various other gifts from his selfless donation.

He shared his life with his wife, Wanda, for almost 34 years. Family was his treasure, and he would go to the ends of the Earth for them. John is survived by his wife, Wanda, daughter, Morgan (Jake) Sales, Kurt (Katlin) Peters, J.D. (Brianna) Berkman, parents Harold & Donna Howell, brother Duayne (Billie Sue), sister, Leslie Hamilton (Larry), brother, Ken Howell (Tina), grandchildren; Khloi Howell, Brooklynn Howell, Jacob Sales, Brighlee Howell, Lola Sales, and Alaric Berkman, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, lots of cousins and his beloved dogs; Aggie & Luna.

John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."
