John F. Hubbard I

John F. Hubbard I New York Mills John F. Hubbard I 69, of New York Mills passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his daughter's home in Schuyler. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Utica a son of the late Leonard and Velma (Ward) Hubbard. He was a 1961 graduate of UFA. In July of 1963 in Clark Mills he was united in marriage Katherine M. Krug, Katherine died on August 26, 1981. He later married Emily Alsheimer in November of 1990, Emily died on October 13, 2007. John started his working career at his father's shop in Clinton called "The College Inn" and later he owned and operated a service station on Genesee St. in South Utica. He then accepted a position with Bosserts in Utica and most recently was employed with Chicago Pneumatic retiring early due to health concerns. After his retirement he assisted his wife Emmy with her business "The Nanny Club" an in home day care center for children. He was a member of the Jaycees. In his younger days he enjoyed playing softball, driving Stock Cars and lunch at Wimpey's. Most recently he enjoyed spending his free time at Uncles Tavern in New York Mills where he was a proud member of the breakfast club. He is survived by his children Roxanne K. Hubbard, John Hubbard and his wife Marj, Bradley Hubbard and his wife Beka, Rhonda Shapiro, Melissa Howell and her husband Cory, Becki Cady and her husband Alan and Alex Alsheimer. He also leaves his grandchildren, Becky, Jenny, Katie, Tiffani, Tiffany, Zach, Caleb, Joe, Morgan, Tanner, Jeff, Ashley, Austin and Alexis, also his great grandchildren, Tyler, Allyson, Karissa, Johnny, Sawyer, Johnathan and Ella. He also leaves a sister, Mary Sainsbury and her husband Gary, an aunt, Doris DeLawyer a sister-in-law Delores Hubbard, a special cousin Linda McConnell. He also leaves his in-law's, Jeanette and Dale Champion, Jean and Tom Donnelly and Ray, Cathy Goodwin and Ken and Joan Krug and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Rebecca Hubbard, a son Eric J. Alsheimer and a brother, James Hubbard. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home Forty Main St. Whitesboro with Rev. Laurie Pauley officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
